What are the requirements of checking into the shelter after reserving a bed? You need to be physically self reliant, you need a valid piece of identification and you need to take a TB test (can be done within first 5 days of stay), or show proof of a current negative test result.
What can I bring to the shelter with me? You can bring one suitcase or bag (approximately 7 days worth of clothing).
Rules of the Shelters:
Women’s Shelter curfew: The Women’s shelter opens at 4pm with doors closing at 6:30pm – if you are not in by 6:30pm and don’t have an excused tardy, you will lose your bed.
Men’s Shelter curfew: The Men’s shelter opens at 5pm with doors closing a 6:30pm – if you are not in by 6:30pm and don’t have an excused tardy, you will lose your bed.
-Cooperation with BFHP staff is required at all times. -No smoking of any kind in the building – you may smoke in the designated section of the courtyard. -No drugs or alcohol of any kind are allowed in the building or grounds. -No weapons of any kind are allowed in the shelter. -No violence, threats, arguing, confrontations or other abusive behavior. -No stealing.
